Bookwell Privacy Policy Last updated September 24, 2026. The same policy is available inside the app under Settings. Summary Bookwell does not collect your data. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and the app contains no third-party code that collects data. The developer cannot see your ledger. Your ledger Accounts, entries, budgets and settings are stored on your device. When iCloud is on for your Apple Account, Bookwell syncs your ledger through Apple's CloudKit to your private iCloud database so it appears on your other devices. Only you can access that database. Widgets, Spotlight and Siri To show widgets, Bookwell keeps a small summary of balances and recent entries on your device, shared only with its own widgets. With Spotlight Search on (Settings ▸ Privacy on iPhone and iPad, Settings ▸ General ▸ Privacy on Mac), account and category names are added to your device's search index; amounts and entries never are. Requests you make through Siri, Shortcuts or Apple Intelligence are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Ask Bookwell uses Apple's on-device model, and Bookwell answers from the ledger on your device. App Lock App Lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode through Apple's system authentication. Bookwell never receives biometric data. Diagnostics On-Device Diagnostics is off unless you turn it on. It then keeps counts of crashes and hangs and CPU, GPU and disk-write totals on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you share the summary yourself, and turning it off deletes it. Exports and backups Exports and backups are files you create and control. They are not encrypted, so store and share them with care. Deleting your data Erase All Data (Settings ▸ iCloud Sync on iPhone and iPad, Settings ▸ iCloud on Mac) deletes your ledger on that device; when iCloud sync is on, the deletion also syncs to iCloud and your other devices. You can remove Bookwell's iCloud data in your iCloud storage settings. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. Children Bookwell collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Changes and contact If this policy changes, the new version appears here and in the app with a new date.
